In spite Cadillac Escalade wasn't the first luxury SUV sold at North American market, it was the trailblazer of light trucks in the Cadillac brand history. First generations got plenty of criticism, but Escalade deserves much credit for being the vehicle that transformed Cadillac's image to flamboyant and youthful. The last generation Escalade is still the best-selling full-size and luxury SUV.
When it comes to its traditional strengths - power, utility, and in-your-face luxury - the Escalade is better than ever. The sensation of driving the big Cadillac is a bit odd if one expects a traditional experience. In easy-going driving, the engine RPM and exhaust note don't correspond linearly to acceleration. A control unit manages all of the above elements using software that is much improved. All Escalades are roomy and luxuriously appointed, letting them haul family or friends or business associates in real comfort. The engine supplies serious power for surprisingly quick acceleration. On the road Cadillac Escalades is smooth and stable. At the same time it is taut and well-controlled for surprisingly good handling by full-size SUV standards.
There is a standard seating for eight inside. Front chairs are heated and cooled. Interior build quality and finish on the examples we drove were excellent. Controls inside are working competently without requiring extensive training or frequent trips to the owner's manual. The Cadillac's touch-screen center stacks earn kudos for being one of the easiest and most logical to operate. The system's ability to save favorite tuning presets regardless of frequency makes perfect sense with the way people use the radio. DVD entertainment systems and a moon roof are optional. The Escalade offers car accessories and convenience features of a luxury sedan, including automatic climate control, navigation, rear camera, a premium Bose sound system, ultrasonic parking assist, power adjustable pedals, and heated leather seats.
All three rows on the Cadillac Escalade are covered by head-curtain side airbags. That option as well as front side airbags is a standard option for that SUV. Stability control system includes rollover mitigation, which helps to avoid situations that might lead to a rollover. On that note, the Escalade has earned top five-star ratings in the tests for frontal and side crash protection but from the other hand it got a low three-star rating for rollover likelihood from the federal government.
New equipment for Escalade contains a express-up power windows for the front row, power-tilting steering wheel, a new light Cashmere interior color combination, and rear-seat audio jacks standard on all models. Other Escalade Accessories include Digital Surround Sound system, an eight-inch touch-screen navigation system, cooled front seats, and power-actuated running boards. Features especially cater to the executives and VIPs who, it seems, all need a 'Slade in their stable. The center console is wide enough to hold a laptop, and Cadillac Escalade includes standard heated power seats, tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable pedals, and a magnificent-sounding Bose system.
From its appearance on the market, Cadillac Escalade> has become very popular especially among those customers who have a taste of personalizing vehicles for its wealthy customers. The most popular customizations done for the ride are mounting of Cadillac Escalade Accessories like custom wheels, chrome accessories, and customizing the paint color and job. And because of its popularity of a luxury vehicle it has also gained reputation of a desired car among celebrities and wealthy people.
